Scrimmage: No score kept (ahem)

Since West Raleigh 7U had only played five games in 24 hours on Saturday and Sunday, it seemed reasonable to get right back on the field Monday night and host a scrimmage against a team from Sanford (a potential opponent in the state tournament). Coach Sean was heard to mutter something about "Get back in the salt mines" when JT's sister asked him if it might be possible for her to have a night off from cheering for her brother.

No score was kept in the scrimmage. That being said, WR 7U won the game, 15-6. Every 7U batter had at least one hit, 12 different players scored at least one run, and the game was salted away--sorry, Coach Sean--early by an eight-run first inning for 7U that saw 12 hitters go to the plate before the inning was called due to the run rule. The offensive highlight, however, came when Jake--perhaps spurred by Coach Sean's shouts of, "Come on, Rooster!"--parked one over the center field fence leading off the fourth inning. That made it 9-0 and the lead eventually stretched to 11-0. But of course, no score was kept.

The next team event is practice Tuesday night at 5. The team will not have hitting practice on Wednesday night. In return for the night off, Coach Sean wants everyone to submit a list of their personal top 100 Wake Forest athletes of all time (Hint: In order to secure the night off, the list should start 1. Gallaher 2. Duncan 3. Piccolo 4. Childress...).
